****************************************************************************** BSW Electronic Mail 01-Jul-1996 13:05:03 CET Message Number 0006 ****************************************************************************** Author: Markus Rothacher Subject: Antenna Phase Center Corrections Dear Bernese users, I would like to announce that -- together with Gerry Mader, NGS -- I just completed the compilation of a consistent set of mean antenna phase center offsets and elevation-dependent phase center corrections for most of the geodetic GPS antennas. This set of phase center calibration values has been put together as a test set for the IGS Global and Regional Analysis Centers and it is named IGS_01. All the information concerning this set is available at the anonymous ftp account in Berne: ftp ubeclu.unibe.ch (130.92.6.11) userid: anonymous passwd: "e-mail address" cd aiub$ftp cd antennas ... ... A description of the combination procedure and the results is given in the file IGS_01.TXT. There you will also find a list of all the other files available in this context (plots, tables, ...). A special file in the format used by the Bernese GPS Software may be found in the directory BSWUSER\GEN with the name PHAS_IGS.01. This file, however, contains too many entries to be directly used by the Bernese GPS Software because of the maximum dimensions set. You have two possibilities to solve this problem: a) Remove some of the entries for antenna/receiver pairs you do not need in this table. b) Increase the maximum dimension MAXRCV in the subroutine GPHECC in the library GPSLIB35 to MAXRCV=50 and then recompile the subroutine and relink the GPS programs with the commands: CLGPSL GPHECC PGMCOMP MAIN -a (for UNIX) PGMLINK MAIN (for DOS and VMS) . There are still some issues to straighten out in the future. Especially the naming and identification of the Ashtech antenna types is not yet solved and some antenna dimension and drawings are still missing. But this set is to be considered a first important step. Please let me know if you have any problems with the set or the implementation thereof. Some feedback about the first experiences you gain with the set would be very appreciated. Also, if you have any additional information on some of the antennas it is very welcome.
